The fire brigades of the Vöcklabruck district were called to 3688 technical assistance and 1230 fire operations in the previous year. 52,000 hours of work were done for this, which corresponds to 6500 working days or 26 years of a working life. During the operations, eight people and 66 animals were freed from emergencies. Four people and five animals could only be recovered dead.
In addition to many storm operations, the fire brigades were heavily challenged during the corona pandemic. “The pandemic has changed our usual processes in fire service operations,” district commander Wolfgang Hufnagl refers to a large amount of additional work. The Floriani disciples demonstrated their know-how in logistics, especially on the Covid test streets and in picking the PCR tests.
Nevertheless, the training organization was very important. 514 comrades have completed various courses at district level. 16 comrades and one comrade passed the test of the fire brigade performance badge in gold. Gold and silver badges were awarded to 213 firefighters. 86 youth fire brigade members passed the FF youth performance badge test in gold.
In May of the previous year, the fire brigade was also able to complete the conversion to digital radio in the district. More than 1000 handheld radios and 287 radios in FF vehicles were put into operation.
