Many fans of alpine ski racing still catch their breath when they think back to the Hahnenkamm races in Kitzbühel: The Italian Pietro Vitalini fell on the first descent shortly before the finish, was thrown over the safety fence and rolled over several times. Just a few hours later, Vitalini finished fifth in the second race.
At the award ceremony of the Ennstal Cup in Großraming, the 54-year-old Italian was an admired star guest and congratulated the winners of the most important ski event in the region on their achievements. For the women, Katharina Pleischl secured the overall ranking for the first time and thus helped SV Losenstein to their first team title in more than a decade. Daniel Lumplecker (WSV Trattenbach) won the men’s event for the fourth time, teammate Jonas Gruber won the children’s event. Theresa Kopf from the organizing association Naturfreunde Großraming was successful with the girls.
