Ukraine does not agree with Russia on the evacuation of civilians from Azovstal

Russian forces and their pro-Russian separatist allies in Ukraine commit to “unilaterally cease hostilities at 2:00 p.m. Moscow time (8:00 a.m. in Argentina),” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian authorities also promised that civilians will be able to move “in the direction they choose”reproduced the AFP news agency.

Meanwhile, the ministry insisted that Ukrainian forces they must show their readiness to begin evacuations by “raising white flags” in Azovstal.

Russia last week claimed control of this strategic city, with the exception of the industrial complex where the last Ukrainian fighters were stationed.

The Russian President, Vladimir Putinordered a blockade of the plant, where hundreds of civilians took refuge alongside the Ukrainian fighters.

On repeated occasions, the invading forces announced that the conditions were ripe for both civilians and combatants to leave the 4 square kilometer plant.

The former could go wherever they wanted, and the latter were promised dignified treatment and, above all, that they would preserve their lives.
