Singing, dancing and enjoyment – with this mixture the Upper Austrians will return to the Vienna City Hall on May 21st. After a two-year break, the anticipation of the 119th edition of the Upper Austrian Ball is particularly great. “I’m looking forward to welcoming numerous guests from Vienna and the surrounding area, Upper Austrians and many other guests from business, culture and sport to our spring ball,” says Governor Thomas Stelzer, who is taking over the patronage of the ball. For him, the event is “a sign of the future and of hope,” says Stelzer, especially in difficult times.
This year, the Innviertel, which is represented in Vienna with music, cuisine and customs, is in the limelight at the Upper Austrian Ball. Especially to the musical contributions of outstanding Innviertel music groups, the dancing leg can be swung. Ball guests can already look forward to the sound inventors from folkshilfe and DJ Rene Rodrigezz. As a special highlight, the musical ensemble of the Linz Music Theater will perform and bring world-famous hits from the “Rocky Horror Picture Show” to “Bohemian Rhapsody” on the stage in Vienna.

The Innviertler restaurateurs bring the culinary highlights to Vienna: from the variety of beers to regional delicacies, there is something for every taste. “The Ball of the Upper Austrians is a connecting event between the region and the federal capital,” says Rudolf Greiner, District Governor of Schärding.
