In addition to the fire brigade and the police, the rescue service and a helicopter were also deployed. The 24-year-old driver and his 22-year-old passenger were taken to hospitals in Linz and Wels.

The two young men from the Rohrbach district had an accident at around 12:35 p.m. The car had left the main road in a forest passage for an unknown reason, crashed into a guide post and drove onto a guard rail. “As a result, the car was catapulted into the air and thrown over the embankment,” reports the police. After several rollovers, the car fell against a massive concrete shaft in an empty seepage basin. It rolled over again, after which it ended up lying on the roof, totally smashed. The two occupants suffered serious injuries.

Car crashed into tree: 19-year-old injured

At the same time, two young people from the Rohrbach district had an accident in Neukirchen am Walde (Grieskirchen district). The 19-year-old driver was traveling with a passenger of the same age on the Keßla-Landesstraße (L 517) in the direction of Waldkirchen when the car hit the shoulder in a slight left-hand bend. He then went off the road and crashed head-on into a tree. The driver escaped without injury, the passenger (19) received first aid and was taken to the nearby hospital. The car was totally damaged in the accident, police said.
