Being queen or princess and representing the Ausseerland – Salzkammergut at events for a year – all ambitious young women between the ages of 18 and 30 have this opportunity at this year’s 61st Narcissus Festival, Austria’s largest flower festival.
The applicants will be invited to the casting on May 7th in the Seevilla in Altaussee, where the three new highnesses will be chosen by a jury. They will be presented to the public at the official coronation evening on May 26 in the Kur- und Congresshaus.
The highnesses are equipped with a complete Aussee costume, which is sponsored by local companies in the region. This includes the classic Ausseer Dirndl in the colors green, purple and pink, a silk scarf and apron, as well as a traditional jacket and matching shoes. The Narcissus Queen and her two princesses also get jewelry and leather bags for their performances.
Application deadline: April 30th
The application for the Daffodil Highnesses, which will be crowned at the opening event of this year’s Daffodil Festival in Bad Aussee, runs until next Saturday, April 30th. When applying, a CV, two photos and a few personal lines explaining the reasons for becoming Narcissus Highness are required.
