Putting the great performance of Upper Austria’s industrial apprentices in front of the curtain and making the slogan “Career with an Apprenticeship” a reality – these are the goals of this year’s apprentice competition in the Industry division of the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce. A total of 774 apprentices from 13 occupational groups – technical, commercial and IT occupations – have registered for the 2022 apprenticeship competition, including 85 girls.
Last Saturday, April 23rd, the apprentice competition for the technical professions took place, in which 723 apprentices were able to measure their level of training in their second year of training against other companies.
The Industry 4.0 team competition will take place next Saturday, followed by the apprenticeship competition for commercial professions on May 14th. 51 apprentices from 20 Upper Austrian companies will put their skills to the test.
Award ceremony in June
The coveted “Best Apprentice of the Year” award will be presented on June 13 in the Sandburg in Linz. A separate award was also designed for the best apprentices in the 13 professional groups and for the team competition. A symbol of how important apprentices and skilled workers are for Upper Austrian industry. The winners in the special category “Women in Technology” are also honored with their own prize.
