A bridge construction site becomes an oasis of relaxation

The lawn is just as clearly recognizable as the flower meadow and the 35 trees that will provide shade here in the near future. And yet the planned relaxation oasis on the asphalt assembly site for the construction of the new Linz railway bridge still has one flaw: It is fenced in and not yet open to the public.

But that should change in a few months. Now that the lawn, meadow and trees are not yet connected to the ground to the extent necessary, it would be counterproductive to leave people on it, experts say. But that will happen and in addition, benches will invite you to linger by the Danube.

For Mayor Klaus Luger (SP) and City Councilor Eva Schobesberger (Greens), an adventure space with recreational value is being created here, which will be part of the new “green mile” on the Danube in Urfahr (Danube Bay, redesign of the fairground area).
