Overall, the Ministry of Education registered 497 positive tests in the federal states excluding Vienna in the current week, in the previous week there were 941 (also without the federal capital). 0.1 percent of all tests were effective (previous week: 0.2 percent). Since Easter, PCR testing has only been carried out once a week.
In Vienna, where a different test system is used than in the other countries with “Alles gurgelt”, 1,074 positive tests were registered in the current week, but there is no comparison with the previous week. In Lower Austria this time 185 tests took place (previous week: 266), in Upper Austria 87 (168), in Styria 55 (139), in Tyrol 42 (129), in Salzburg 40 (64), in Carinthia 37 (77), in Burgenland 27 (44) and in Vorarlberg 24 (54).
Since Monday, the mask requirement in schools has been lifted. Before that, pupils and teaching staff had to wear masks outside of the classrooms or group rooms or FFP2 masks in the upper school. In the case of positive cases, however, masks can be made compulsory again at the location for a limited period of time.
There are currently 13 classes in distance learning due to frequent corona cases, and entire schools are not closed.
