Registration for the children’s university started

It’s finally here: the program of the Children’s University 2022. And it’s particularly rich: there will be more than 450 events from July 11th to September 1st at the locations in Linz, Wels, Steyr, Hagenberg and in the Almtal and Ennstal give. They are held and designed by 500 scientists, technicians and experts.

In terms of content, the spectrum ranges from archeology and robotics to art and ethics. “We dare to guarantee that there is something exciting for every child,” says Andreas Kupfer, rector of the children’s university.

The offer is greatly expanded: There is also a fourth unit day at the FH campus Hagenberg this year. In the Almtal, where the demand is particularly high, there is a whole day at the Traunsee in cooperation with the International Academy Traunkirchen. With the offers in rural areas, children should also have access to the summer educational offers there.

Of course, the OÖN are again offering a course day where interested young people can get a taste of editing and help design a newspaper page that will actually appear the next day.

The children’s university is also supported by the education department. “At the children’s university, children can gain their first insights into the most diverse areas of science, culture and business,” says Education Director Alfred Klampfer. All private and public universities in Upper Austria also support the project. “When it comes to arousing children’s curiosity about a wide variety of topics, we are happy to be involved. That is part of our social responsibility,” says Gerald Reisinger, President of the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences.

In addition to public institutions such as Landes-Kultur, numerous companies also support the campaign, above all Voest, which has been the general sponsor for many years. “Knowledge, curiosity and the ability to question things is the basis for new ideas, innovations and for the jobs of the future,” says Pauline Seidermann, member of the Voest Board of Management.
