The Viennese was found lying on the sidewalk by a passer-by in the early morning hours of March 29, seriously injured. The man was taken to the hospital, where he died a little later. The police do not assume a violent crime, but rather an accident.
It could be that the man was run over and the driver committed a hit and run. The fact that the 35-year-old jumped or fell down somewhere would not fit into the pattern of injuries, the police said. The man had a traumatic brain injury and serious leg and hip injuries.
He was discovered on the sidewalk in front of the entrance to the garage at Spitalgasse 12. This is opposite MedUni Vienna. The passer-by found him lying on his stomach. The location of discovery may not be the immediate site of the incident.
