Chase after tuning meeting claimed four injured

As the police announced on Sunday, the man first noticed his driving style. He drove away from the police at a speed of up to 160 km/h and collided with two vehicles while fleeing. Shortly before the incident, the 18-year-old had attended a tuning meeting. Details in the video:

Shortly after midnight, the crew of a police patrol noticed that an unlicensed BMW was driving south on the hospital belt. When the police patrol took up the pursuit, the driver accelerated his car and drove through several red lights. The speedometer of the following police vehicle showed speeds of up to 160 km/h at times.

Collided with a taxi and a car

According to the police, the driver of the car drove against a one-way street, after an abrupt turning maneuver, ended up on Triesterstrasse and collided with a taxi and a car that was being driven by a 25-year-old man from Graz. The 18-year-old from the Liezen district drove his car over the green strip that separated the lanes first onto a green space in a shopping center. Then the vehicle hit several billboards and finally crashed onto the access ramp to Puntigamer Strasse.

The chase ended with three injured drivers and an injured passenger who was in the 18-year-old’s car. They were taken to Graz Regional Hospital or Graz Accident Hospital. The vehicles were badly damaged, police said.

When first questioned, the young man stated that he had attended a tuning meeting before the incident. In this regard and with regard to a possible impairment by addictive substances, the investigations have not yet been completed.
