The leader region Vöckla-Ager has also been a climate and energy model region (KEM) for twelve years. On May 1st, KEM manager Sabine Pommer handed over the tasks to her successor Sybille Chiari.
Pommer was managing director of Reva for 25 years and manager of the Attnang technology center for 20 years. With Otelo founder Martin Hollinetz, she founded the first Otelo location in Vöcklabruck. Since then she has been a member of the board of the Otelo association, responsible for the radio nest. There she has been organizing a monthly radio show on climate protection issues for the Freies Radio Salzkammergut for five years.
Her successor Chiari has been working in the field of climate and sustainability communication since her studies at Boku Vienna. She is chairwoman of the Bele-Cohousing association, which has been running a climate-friendly community housing project in Regau for four years.
The aim of the Vöckla-Ager climate and energy model region remains to achieve climate neutrality by 204. In the previous year, the municipalities installed photovoltaic systems with 1600 MkWP. There are now six initiatives for a renewable energy community in the region with 70,000 residents, one of which is already running in Gampern. Everyday bike paths and micro public transport are other KEM topics.
