The accident happened around 5 p.m. in the direction of Salzburg. A 45-year-old from Salzburg was driving in the 2nd lane when he braked heavily due to traffic. A subsequent 25-year-old driver from the Gmunden district crashed her car into the rear of the 45-year-old.
The car driver driving behind her, a 74-year-old from the Wels-Land district, tried to dodge, but then crashed into the rear of the 25-year-old. Both the driver and the 74-year-old were injured and, after first aid by the emergency doctor, were taken to the Wels-Grieskirchen clinic by ambulance.
The Salzburg lane was closed at Sattledt until 6:30 p.m. or made difficult to pass, and there was a significant traffic jam.
