Serious accident with Wiener Linien bus: seven injured

For reasons that have not yet been clarified, the bus driver lost control of his vehicle on Ulmenstraße – a relatively steep street – the spokesman for the Vienna professional fire brigade, Christian Feiler, reported to the APA. This set off a chain reaction of impacts and collisions. A total of seven people were injured, two of them seriously.

A bus on line 52B was affected, as the Wiener Linien announced to the APA. After the bus driver lost control of his vehicle, according to the fire department spokesman Feiler, he rolled further down the sloping road and “continued straight ahead at a sharp bend”.

The vehicle first crashed into a tree and then into a transformer station with 10,000 volts. The transformer house was badly damaged. Parts of it were pushed against an MA 48 truck that was traveling there, Feiler reported.

The emergency services were currently on the spot. According to initial information, four children are among the five slightly injured. The injured are said to be all bus passengers.
