Five test kits per capita and month are available from 285 Spar branches in all districts. These tests can now also be used for free testing. This was announced by Deputy Governor Christine Haberlander (ÖVP) on Tuesday.
For an evaluation by the next day, the sample must be handed in to one of the participating supermarkets by 9 a.m. It is also possible to pick up and drop off samples from Monday to Sunday (including public holidays) at 25 Spar Express locations and 30 McDonalds branches.
It should be noted that the submitted sample must be marked with the reference number of the notice of separation in order to enable a valid exemption test. It is also possible to label the sample number of the originally positive PCR test, which can be found in the SMS that the test person received directly after the analysis of their positive test. Write this number down on a piece of paper and put it in the delivery bag.
The previous system for suspected cases and free tests will continue to be used unchanged. The drive-in test streets operated in cooperation with the Red Cross issue throat tests for free testing at home, which can be handed in at official test streets, Spar, Spar Express or McDonalds branches. PCR tests of suspects in the official test streets and free tests will still not be deducted from the five monthly free PCR tests.
