“A piece of home for our compatriots in the federal capital”

The ball of the Upper Austrians in Vienna will take place on May 21st in the fairytale ambience of the Vienna City Hall. But this lavish festival with music, dance and culinary delights would not be possible without the numerous companies that support the ball financially. Some of them explain their reasons for doing so.

“Our compatriots can get a taste of home air in the federal capital with the Upper Austrian Ball,” says Heinrich Schaller, General Manager of the Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich, who describes this evening as “a highlight of the ball season”.

It is not the first time that Oberösterreichische Versicherung AG is a partner of the event. “Customs and cuisine are held up there in a special way,” says general director Othmar Nagl. “It’s great that the organizers manage to create a real white and red ‘home’ feeling in the federal capital every time.”

“Connected to the region”

A special occasion is this year’s ball for FACC AG, which develops solutions for the aerospace industry – after all, the focus is on the Innviertel region. The company has 13 international locations, says Group CEO Robert Machtlinger: “But our home is the Innviertel. We proudly show this connection to the region as one of the main sponsors of this year’s Upper Austrian Ball.”

Many Upper Austrians would move to Vienna every year, says Günther Erhartmaier, Upper Austria’s state director of Wiener Städtische Versicherung, a long-time sponsor. “Even if most of them find their way back to Upper Austria later, the Upper Austrians’ ball in Vienna during these years is a piece of home for our compatriots.”

For the Therme Geinberg, as the largest tourist business in the Innviertel, it quickly became clear that the company wanted to be a “partner of this very special event”, says Managing Director Karl Berghammer.

The topic of regionality also plays a major role for Vivatis Holding, an umbrella for Austrian small and medium-sized companies in the food sector: “We stand behind Austrian food manufacturers and their quality products,” says CEO Gerhard Hackl. “It’s also this idea of regionality that we like so much about the Upper Austrian Ball. That’s why we’re happy to support this unique event.”

Customs, culture, cuisine

“With our commitment to the Upper Austrian Ball, Energie AG carries the connection with our state to the outside world,” says General Manager Werner Steinecker. The company Backaldrin, based in Asten, famous for its Kornspitz, is happy to be a partner of the festival this year, says Regina Augendopler from the owner family: “The ball night is a wonderful opportunity to present Upper Austrian customs, culture and cuisine in the federal capital .”
