The officers were alerted shortly after 22 by the wife, a 38-year-old Afghan national, about domestic violence. Her husband should therefore be expelled from the apartment according to the provisions of the Security Police Act and given a ban on approaching him. In the course of the official act, the 40-year-old suddenly grabbed their two-year-old child, opened a window and, according to the police, wanted to throw himself from the 13th floor together with him.
The officers managed to snatch the child from the man and bring it to safety. According to the police, there were violent acts of resistance as a result, in which both the 40-year-old man and two police officers were injured.
The man was arrested, an interrogation could not yet be carried out. The investigations into suspected attempted murder, resistance to state authority and various violent crimes against the wife are being conducted by the Tyrolean State Criminal Police Office.
