A 34-year-old Ukrainian drove the minibus shortly after 5 p.m. on the Herrnholzer Gemeindestraße coming from Kronberg in the direction of Simbach. Eight other Ukrainians were in the vehicle. At the same time, a 52-year-old from the Grieskirchen district drove his car on the Leppersdorfer Gemeindestraße coming from Steinholz in the direction of Leppersdorf.
At an intersection, the 52-year-old noticed. that the driver of the minibus made no move to stop his vehicle. Despite emergency braking, the car crashed sideways into the minibus, which overturned on the right side. A 42-year-old passenger fell out of the minibus and suffered fatal injuries. A doctor could only determine the death of the woman.
Other passengers were injured in the accident and were taken to nearby hospitals.
