In what direction does the Eferdinger Land want to develop? On 91 pages, the regional development association REGEF has worked out the strategy for the next few years together with committed citizens, with which they are applying for the next LEADER funding period. This is scheduled to begin in mid-2023. The Eferdinger Land has been involved since 2002, and almost 13 million euros from the EU funding pot have flowed into projects in the region since then, report REGEF Managing Director Susanne Kreinecker and Chairman Mario Hermüller. In addition to the twelve Eferding communities, Buchkirchen in the Wels-Land district is also taking part.
In the new strategy, 14 main topics were worked out. “To protect, use and mobilize resources” is the overarching motto. It has also been decided to expand the soft tourism and the leisure-tourism offers and to strengthen the regional brand “Eferdinger Land”. The Eferdinger Land should also become more digitally visible in order to attract more workers to the region. The marketing of regional products and services is also to be further strengthened, and a focus is also to be placed on the culinary arts in the district.
There are still free funds from the current funding period, ideas can still be submitted. More than 60 projects have been funded since mid-2015 or are still being implemented.
