As in every spring, the “Beautification Association Obertraun”, founded in 2009, has recently resumed its work. The members under chairman Gerhard Lipovec have set themselves the goal of keeping the valley hiking trails intact.
Last year they worked no fewer than 589 hours in 110 work assignments. The focus was on the paths to the Schergenkogel, to the source of the Bühlerbach or at the Hagenbach with its Kneipp path. A number of benches were renewed and cut out, and the vantage points at the waterfall wall and on the Schergenkogel were maintained. Work on the Lichtstein will continue this year. A number of maintenance works are also on the agenda.
The association is mainly financed by membership fees and donations, which can be handed in at the local tourist office. Of course, the association also receives support from the municipality and the tourism association. “This association is indispensable for the community, a great support and enrichment for the place!” Says Mayor Egon Höll (SPÖ).
