After the center of Velden had to be closed to cars several times last year due to nighttime congestion, the municipality and the neighboring town of Rosegg are proceeding very rigorously: The Seecorso is closed on the May weekends from 7.30 p.m. to 2 a.m., with the duration the lock can also be extended. In the event of traffic congestion, further driving bans are to be imposed. Speed ​​limits have been in effect on a number of roads since the beginning of May and until the beginning of June, according to Veldener Tourismus GmbH.

Villach is also preparing for the coming weeks. Here, the authorities are paying attention to the Dobratsch nature park, which is really “no place for hooligans”, as the city put it in a press release: At certain times, the parking lots are closed and access to the Bergstraße is prohibited in the evening hours. “Increased controls and close monitoring by the executive” are also taken care of.

However, one point announced in the weeks before is not coming for the time being, it was said from Villach: For the time being, no night driving bans will be imposed on Lake Faaker See. Noise measurements were carried out on Friday night, which did not result in any acute additional exposure to car noise. But what is not, can still be, because the city has announced further measurements: “Should significant noise pollution be recorded by these measurements, the ordinance can come into force quickly.”
