Stationary dealers in Europe want to expand this year

This is the result of a survey by the real estate service provider CBRE published this week. He surveyed more than 50 retailers who together operate 70,000 stores.

According to this, 57 percent of the retailers surveyed are planning to increase the number of their shops. In addition, 37 percent want to open up new markets, with Germany, France and Great Britain being named as the three most important locations.

“There is no doubt that online retail has grown strongly, but these survey results paint a more resilient picture of stationary retail,” says Walter Wölfler, retail manager for Austria and Eastern Europe at CBRE. 64 percent of retailers stated that stationary shops had a positive influence on their online sales in the local catchment area.
