Ralf M. was brought to Linz by emergency helicopter – but even there the doctors could no longer save the young man’s life.
M. rode his motorbike on Rieder Straße (B141) towards Polling on Saturday evening. The 24-year-old was traveling alone, wearing appropriate protective clothing and a crash helmet.
Witnesses provided first aid
In Altheim, the 24-year-old left the road around 7:30 p.m. for reasons unknown and broke through the fence of a commercial establishment with his vehicle. Only 80 meters further M. finally came to rest.
Two bystanders had observed the accident and rushed to the injured. They provided first aid and called 911. “When we arrived, rescue helicopters, the Red Cross and the police were already there,” says Mario Grabner, commander of the Altheim volunteer fire department. “We secured the scene of the accident and supported the other emergency services in bringing the injured person to the rescue helicopter.”
M. was flown to the KUK and continued to receive intensive care there. However, the doctors lost the fight for the life of the 24-year-old during the night. He passed away early Sunday morning.
