As pastry chef at the Hotel Sacher in Vienna, the 32-year-old pastry chef Michael Klein has not only refined his professional skills, he has also found personal happiness there with Sarah Schubert. The German from Brandenburg, who now lives on Lake Traunsee, together with his colleague Natalie Stebbing, chef de partie patisserie at the Hotel Sacher, won the latest season of the SAT1 baking show on Sunday evening. The reward: the golden cupcake and 10,000 euros as the best professional baker of the year.
After four weeks, the Klein/Stebbing team prevailed in the final and delighted the jury with their sweet creations.
The Upper Austrian by choice, who moved to the Traunsee with his partner Sarah Schubert from Bad Hall, wants to inspire with “La Sonett” in Gmunden from the beginning of June. The couple wants to spoil visitors with sweet delicacies with their own restaurant. In addition to a patisserie, boulangerie and bistro, a boutique hotel with ten fully equipped designer apartments is also part of what the two master confectioners have to offer.
