Ex-City Chief: Public Prosecutor’s Office investigations

In the elections last fall, the long-term city boss was voted out. A few weeks ago it became known that Angerer is said to have received too much salary for six years. As of April 2015, he reportedly received a teacher’s pension on top of his salary as full-time mayor. Such double references were not permitted at the time. The cause could also become a case for investigations by the public prosecutor.

“There are currently investigations in progress in this case. We are taking a closer look at the facts, i.e. the double receipt of the pension. It must be clarified whether there is an initial suspicion. If this is the case, the Ried public prosecutor’s office will initiate an investigation. The former Schärdinger mayor will receive a summons from us for an interrogation,” said Alois Ebner, spokesman for the Ried public prosecutor’s office yesterday when asked by OÖN. In a brief statement, Angerer pointed out that the state of Upper Austria is currently examining the matter.
