The running professionals and the amateurs, who are back in Kremsmünster this year after a two-year Corona break, are waiting for the starting command “Attention, steady, go!” listened, didn’t take a step too little on the 10-kilometre route. The Gymnastics and Sports Association (TuS), which organizes the already classic road race, had the “Association of International Marathons and Road Races” (AIMS) complete the loop with the impeller.
Because parked cars could impede the measurement in a straight line, one meter per 1000 meters was added to the AIMS certification 16 years ago as a guarantee that the run would not be too short. The fact that the street circuit was completed in four laps of 2.5 kilometers and was actually 10,010 meters long was no reason why the best times were bombproof.
Day’s winner Florian Großauer from Optik Kroboth Perg, who won ahead of Patrick Tröscher (LCAV Jodl Packaging), was 5:21 minutes behind the ex aequo record of the two Austrian top runners Günther Weidlinger and Martin Proell with a time of 34:26 minutes. Großauer, the fastest man on this Sunday’s race in glorious weather, was also unable to beat the women’s record on the course held by Andrea Mayr with 33:19. Hannah Köster from LAC Amateure Steyr was the fastest woman to cross the finish line after 41:51, followed by Tanja Egger (Wels) and Teresa Kurzmann (RunninGraz).
