The consumer protection of the Chamber of Labor (AK) Upper Austria asked 101 companies in the state for the prices. The interest group reported on Wednesday that mopeds cost 20 to 55.90 euros, and motorcycles 23 to 57.90 euros. A mechanic’s hour comes to an average of 92.45 euros for mopeds and 94.10 euros for motorcycles.

On average, moped drivers have to spend 34.40 euros and motorcyclists 38.37 euros for the assessment of their two-wheeler. When it comes to the average values ​​per district, Eferding is the cheapest, the moped sticker comes to an average of 28 euros, that for the motorcycle to 31.67 euros. It is most expensive for a moped in the district of Linz-Land with an average of 43.35 euros and for a motorcycle in the district of Perg with an average of 44.03 euros. Members of the mobility clubs get off relatively cheaply: At the ARBÖ, the sticker costs 26.90 euros for a moped and 39.50 euros for a motorcycle, at the ÖAMTC it costs 23.20 euros and 33.70 euros respectively.

If defects are found during the inspection of the equipment, lighting, warning and safety devices, chassis, tires and wheels, as well as the engine and brakes, repair costs will be incurred. Here, too, the consumer advocates discovered considerable price differences: a mechanic’s hour on a moped or motorcycle costs between 50 euros for the cheapest and 147.60 euros for the most expensive provider. The average price for a mechanic’s hour on mopeds is 92.45 euros and on motorcycles 94.10 euros.
