When Tiger Woods made his comeback a little over a month ago at the Golf Masters in Augusta, 14 months after his car accident, walking alone caused problems. There was no question of a top place – but that could be different at the PGA Championship in Tulsa (Oklahoma), which starts today, at least if the 46-year-old has his way. He even dares to win: “I have the feeling that I can definitely do it.” The confidence comes from recent physical advances. “I just have to go out there and do it. I have to do my job,” said the 15-time major winner.
In the absence of defending champion Phil Mickelson, Masters winner Scottie Scheffler is the favorite for the second Masters tournament of the year. With Sepp Straka and Bernd Wiesberger, two Austrians are at the start. The latter is hoping to match its best result of 15th place in 2014.
