The black-blue state government must commit to wind power. State Councilor Stefan Kaineder (Greens) called for this at a press conference yesterday. Together with the Greens’ club chairman, Severin Mayr, he presented an initiative proposal that the Greens will bring to the state parliament’s committee for location development today.
It contains five demands. The first is that the state government must commit to expanding wind power. The core of the application is that 100 new wind turbines should be built in Upper Austria by 2030.
In addition, the wind power master plan, which defines possible areas for the generation of wind power, must also be revised. In addition, appropriate experts are needed in the offices to speed up the approval process. Nature conservation and environmental protection conditions would have to be reconciled and, last but not least, the power grids would have to be adapted in order to be able to transport the electricity generated.
