As part of a big festival for the people of Vöcklabruck, three vehicles and a boat from the volunteer fire brigade were blessed these days.
KDO1 and KDO2 are command vehicles, with KDO 2 being an all-terrain vehicle for operations in areas that are difficult to access, such as in the forest. MTF 1 is designed for crew transport. The rescue boat is used to support the diving group in the storage area of the power plants, but also on the Salzkammergut lakes.
13 neighboring fire brigades came to celebrate under the large fire brigade cross, which was created from fire brigade ladders and a nozzle and is decorated with the corps badge of the Vöcklabruck Wehr and three different helmets from three generations.
Together, the Catholic pastor, Barbara Hofwimmer, and the Protestant pastor, Markus Lang, asked for the protection and safe return of the emergency services. Because, as Pastor Lang stated: “You are doing God’s service to the people!”
Mayor Peter Schobesberger emphasized: “With a fleet of 14 vehicles, our fire brigade takes on tasks that go far beyond the city limits. Whether a battery weighing hundreds of kilos is on fire, whether a 40-ton truck is stuck in the forest due to a detour, whether muscle power or technical assistance is required to set up the maypole – our volunteer fire brigade is on the spot. If public order has to be maintained during a blackout at the beginning of January in the extreme cold, our fire brigade has the know-how, the equipment and the motivation. Vöcklabruck is proud of you.”
