A 40-year-old fell when trying to climb the 1,402-meter-high Zwillingkogel between Grünau and Scharnstein from the Hauergraben. At an altitude of 1130 meters, she slipped on the steep Jagasteig and came to rest in extremely dangerous terrain.
The woman from the Gmunden district still managed to make an emergency call with her cell phone. She was rescued by the team of the emergency helicopter using a rope and brought down into the valley. According to the police, the climber survived the crash with minor injuries. She was released into home care, the emergency services said on Thursday evening.
Localization: The Zwillingkogel is located in the Almtal between Scharnstein and Grünau. The Jagasteig from the Hauergraben is one of the steeper paths on the 1402 meter high summit.
