The Steyregg men’s choir had hardly been launched when the corona pandemic hit and restricted the singers’ opportunities to perform. As far as it was allowed, the choir was more active in the church area under the direction of Karl Brandstötter.
That will change this weekend, the Steyregg male choir will make its first public appearance. On Saturday, May 21, from 8 p.m., the Steyregg town hall invites you to a spring concert with three tenors and a delegation from the town band. The program is varied and ranges from alpine compositions to classics and hits by Udo Jürgens and Leonard Cohen. The spring concert will be repeated on Sunday, May 22 at 5 p.m.
The Steyregg men’s choir also serves a good cause. Because ten percent of the entrance fee (voluntary donations) will be donated to the 20 Ukrainians living in the Steyregger parish home who were displaced by the war in their homeland.
With their first major public appearance, the singers not only want to appeal to those interested in choirs, but also hope that a problem that the association still has will be solved: the choir lacks a fixed rehearsal location. Here one hopes for the community.
