The Upper Austrian won the second of seven Austrian Top Meetings this season in the shot put with a throw of 14.48 m. With another four attempts over 13.50 m, the 28-year-old delivered the best season start of her career so far.
“The build-up wasn’t perfect this year, so I’m all the more pleased about the distance,” said Dadic, who returned from a training camp in Atlanta in April with a thigh injury. “Now I have to get going in the next few weeks, that’s important now.”
With Sarah Lagger, a second Austrian heptathlete was also in action, the Carinthian was not satisfied with 14.50 seconds over 100 m hurdles and 5.69 m in the long jump. Karin Strametz was disqualified over 100 m hurdles because of a false start, Magdalena Lindner was anything but satisfied with her 100 m winning time of 11.89 seconds. Stadium records were set by Hungary’s Mate Jarvas with 71.04 m and Angela Moravcsik with 50.89 m in the javelin throw.
