For two young men, trips with their two-wheelers ended in the hospital on Saturday: A 17-year-old man from Vienna and a 19-year-old man from the Linz-Land district injured themselves seriously.
Crashed into a creek with a light motorcycle
The young person from Vienna had lost control of his light motorcycle, which was not approved for traffic, around 4 p.m. on the Wiesing goods route in the municipality of Kallham (district of Grieskirchen).
In a slight right-hand bend, he left the roadway and crashed into the Penzinger Bach stream bed together with the motorcycle. The seriously injured man was able to call his mother, who triggered the rescue chain. The emergency helicopter brought the young man to the hospital in Wels.
Failed overtaking manoeuvre
A good two and a half hours later, another serious accident occurred on the B139 between Ansfelden and Neuhofen an der Krems. A 19-year-old from the Linz-Land district got on the right-hand side of the road immediately after overtaking.
He touched a street marker and fell over the embankment into a field. He suffered such serious injuries that he had to be taken to the UKH in Linz after emergency medical care, the police said on Saturday evening.
