“We’re showing in Vienna how Upper Austrians can celebrate,” said visitor Jutta Sperk. She’s attending this ball for the first time and, like many other guests, raves about the “dreamlike ambience” in the magnificent Vienna City Hall.
The guests of honor were enthusiastically received by the music association Eggerding (district Schärding) – today in Vienna the people of the Innviertel set the pace, they have the patronage of the event. The Aspacher Tridoppler Musi also took the opportunity to perform a few Gstanzl. “They all make this ball a celebration and make it shine,” said Othmar Thann, chairman of the Upper Austrian Association in Vienna, to the 2,600 guests at the opening. The ball could not take place for two years, so the joy of the club and the guests was correspondingly great today: “Finally another Upper Austrian ball in the Vienna City Hall,” said Governor Thomas Stelzer. It should be a sign of solidarity, so the people in Ukraine will also be supported in cooperation with the Red Cross.
Host, Vienna’s Mayor Michael Ludwig, emphasized that today Viennese also have the opportunity to get to know the beauty of Upper Austria and praised the “wonderful breed of people.”
