Fire brigade rescued unconscious man from burning apartment building in Linz

Around 11:20 p.m., an apartment fire in an apartment building was reported via the emergency call. When the professional fire brigade arrived, the flames were already beating from an apartment on the first floor.

With heavy respiratory protection, the emergency services ventured into the heavily smoky stairwell, where they found an unconscious man. He was taken outside and eventually to a hospital. Two other people were also taken to a hospital for treatment with suspected smoke inhalation. Fortunately, there were no more people in the burning apartment.

As the professional fire brigade announced, the high intensity of the fire in the stairwell ignited several apartment doors. According to the police, eight other apartments are currently uninhabitable, and there was also considerable damage to the house facade.

The fire was completely extinguished around 1:30 a.m., and the Ebelsberg fire brigade took over the fire watch until the morning hours.
