Clothing caught fire: two boys seriously injured

A happy barbecue in the garden of a house in Öpping in the Rohrbach district, in which a total of nine young people were involved, ended with severe burn injuries for two young men.

The group had gathered around a concrete table with an open fireplace around 9:30 p.m. A sheet metal channel milled out in the middle of the table was filled with bio-ethanol and set on fire. When a 20-year-old wanted to refill the detonator from a bottle, the flammable liquid probably spilled out of the channel and hit two young people sitting across from each other at the table. The clothes of a 20-year-old and a 19-year-old immediately caught fire.

Although their friends immediately extinguished the clothing with water, the two boys suffered serious skin injuries. According to the police, they were first taken to the Rohrbach Clinic after emergency medical care and then flown to special clinics.
