Federal and state support can account for more than half of the switching costs. From this year, thermal renovation and boiler replacement can be tax deductible as special expenses.
A total of 1.9 billion euros will be available for modern heating systems and thermal renovation by 2025. According to the Ministry of the Environment, around 600,000 households are currently still heated with oil heaters and one million households with gas heaters.
The federal government promotes the exchange for a local or district heating connection, a heat pump or a biomass heating system with 7500 to 15,000 euros.
The federal states also support: In Upper Austria, a maximum of 50 percent of the costs or, depending on the type of system, up to 2900 euros and up to 1000 euros for oil boiler disposal are earmarked for biomass heating. For heat pumps there is a maximum of 50 percent or depending on the type of pump up to 2800 euros and up to 1000 euros for oil boiler disposal. District heating: a maximum of 50 percent of the costs with a subsidy of up to 2,800 euros; Solar thermal: a maximum of 50 percent of the costs or up to 3500 euros.
