The week began with a serious accident for a 57-year-old from Linz: The drunk man collided with his motorcycle on the B139 in the Haid municipality on Monday around 7 a.m. and suffered injuries of an unspecified degree.
The accident occurred at the intersection of the B139 and Salzburgerstrasse. A car driver who was driving in front of the biker had braked his car in convoy traffic to allow a vehicle in cross traffic to turn. Just then, the motorcyclist overtook and collided with the turning car.
Driver’s license removed
The injured Linzer was taken to the accident hospital. A breathalyser test on the man showed 1.02 per mille. His driver’s license was provisionally taken from him and he will be reported to the Linz-Land district authority, the police said on Monday afternoon.
