Tennis Bundesliga: UTC Steyr celebrates a resounding victory in Waidhofen

Right at the start of the season, UTC Casa Moda Steyr set a milestone on the way to the declared goal of staying up in the 1st Bundesliga. Captain Stefan Minichberger’s team won 9-0 at newly promoted UTC VB Waidhofen. “It was a strong team performance, even if we benefited from the opponent’s personnel problems,” said the captain.

The Waidhofner’s top player, Danylo Kalenichenko, had just received a doping ban from the International Tennis Federation (ITF) a few weeks ago. When the scheduled number two, Patrick Ofner, also canceled at short notice, the Mostviertler were lost. So the sextet Vitaliy Sachko, David Pichler, Philip Bachmaier, Johannes Fleischmann, Simon Traxler and Dominik Traxler had an easy time. They only gave two sentences in total.
