Daily climate protection as a task for the citizens

Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of the coming years, which can only be overcome together. As a result, Austria has set itself the goal of being climate-neutral by 2040. This goal also applies to the region between Gusen and Sternstein. But what does that mean for everyday life, what contribution can everyone make every day, and where are the biggest levers? The climate challenge provides answers. Five tasks from five areas have to be completed in five weeks.

All citizens of the region are invited to master at least one task on each topic from five areas of everyday life. Who a short field report including photo on the website zukunftleben.at uploads, takes part in a raffle. The website also provides tips for each task. Of course, no one expects that a heating replacement, a renovation or a climate-neutral holiday will be carried out directly during the campaign period. What counts here is the planning or dealing with the topics. Regardless of whether it is a household, company, institution, educational institution, club or group: everyone can take on the challenge and improve their personal climate balance.

With the “A good day has 100 points” app, a simple tool is also available during the campaign period that makes your own “CO2 backpack” clearly visible. With just a few clicks you can record your own status quo and receive information on how changes in behavior have a positive impact on your own climate balance. So you can easily measure yourself in a circle of friends, in class or with neighbors and find out how you perform in a direct comparison.
