The man had problems with a prepaid card when paying in a supermarket on Monday morning. Since the employees of a supermarket in St. Georgen im Attergau could not help him, the 59-year-old Iranian from the Vöcklabruck district went crazy. He threatened a 22-year-old employee with a hand gesture, as if he were cocking a pistol, and also verbally threatened to shoot her. He then fled the supermarket.
The employees alerted the police. The manhunt was successful after a short time, and the man was arrested not far from the scene of the crime. Officials could not find a weapon on the 59-year-old man. When he was questioned at the police station, he confessed in part. On the instructions of the Wels public prosecutor’s office, he was admitted to the Wels correctional facility.
