After the accident at the graduation ball of the HLW Steyr in the town hall – Elisabeth “Lilly” Maier, singer of the band “Seven Up”, was hit and injured by a falling part of the ceiling during the midnight interlude, as reported – the experts and structural engineers of the city were on duty today, to examine the now officially closed hall. “We hope that the first results of the test will be available tomorrow,” says Deputy Mayor Annamaria Demmelmayr (SP). The criminal police had already been on site yesterday, Monday, to record the facts of the accident.
However, it is still unclear how the accident could have happened. As has now also become known, an incident is said to have occurred at a graduation ball a week earlier. A ball visitor is said to have jumped in exuberance into a chandelier that was said to be hanging too low, and a schoolgirl was then injured by falling glass splinters. The girl is said to have been treated for cuts on her face.
Meanwhile, singer “Lilly” is on the mend. “I still feel dizzy sometimes, but it’s slowly getting better,” says the bank clerk, “but I only have to wear the neck brace for an hour or so.” Luckily, there weren’t any during a CT scan that was carried out in the Steyr hospital today vertebral injuries were discovered.
She has already seen the video of the accident, which is now circulating in various online forums, says Maier: “I didn’t feel so good when I saw the video. But I can’t and don’t want to watch it a second time.”

Tonight the band will return to the Stadtsaal for the first time to examine the partially demolished instruments. “Parts of our equipment were affected,” says the singer, “hopefully we can still use some or borrow them somewhere so that we can perform again soon.” The next appearance at a wedding would have been planned for the weekend.
