The market town of Neumarkt is taking a big step into the fiber optic future this year. Together with the project partner Liwest, the broadband coverage of 14 villages in Neumarkt will be tackled from autumn. The investment volume is more than 2.5 million euros. This gives around 450 Neumarkt households the opportunity to be connected to the fiber optic network. “This makes Neumarkt one of the largest priority regions for broadband expansion in the entire Mühlviertel,” said Mayor Christian Denkmaier and the Chairwoman of the Committee for Digitization and Ecology, Angelika Palzer-Reindl, at an information event in the packed parish hall. For those areas that are not yet considered, solutions are being sought that will also ensure fiber optic coverage in the medium term. Incidentally, the market itself is not an official funding region due to its relatively good internet connection.
