Faster and more relaxed
Since the beginning of April, the WESTbahn has connected Vienna and Munich and thus two German-speaking metropolises of millions. The WESTbahn currently offers up to four continuous connections per day and direction. The travel time from Vienna to Munich is only 3 hours and 47 minutes, or 3 hours and 49 minutes the other way round. In Austria, the trains stop at all stations that WESTbahn has previously served. Thus there are direct connections from St. Pölten, Amstetten, Linz, Wels, Attnang-Puchheim, Vöcklabruck and Salzburg.
Perfect connection to the airport
In Germany, the journey goes directly to Munich Central Station via a stop in Munich East. The stop at Munich East station enables travelers from central Upper Austria and Salzburg in particular to reach Munich Airport quickly and with just one change to the S-Bahn.
Tickets at a special price
And best of all: With a ticket at the WESTsuper price, you can travel from Vienna to Munich from EUR 23.99 or from Linz to Munich from EUR 16.99. Tickets at the WESTsuper price can only be booked online at westbahn.at.
Incidentally, travelers with a KlimaTicket Ö have it particularly good: they only pay 14.90 euros with the WESTbahn for the additional KlimaPlus-Ticket Munich (which applies to the Salzburg – Munich section). In addition, KLimaTicket Ö holders can also travel across borders in WESTbahn Comfort Class at no extra charge in connection with the Munich KlimaPlus ticket. If you have deposited your KlimaTicket Ö in your WESTbahn account, the KlimaPlus-Ticket Munich can be booked online. It can also be bought in the WESTshops and directly on the train.
