A group of six road bikers started their tour on Wednesday around 5 p.m., starting in Frankenburg via Timelkam, Ungenach, Thomasroith and ending in Frankenburg.

On the winding Tanzbodener Landesstraße in Eberschwang, the experienced cyclists, who cover an average distance of around 250 km per week, rode one behind the other at a safe distance.

A 53-year-old from the Vöcklabruck district, who was second in the group, got into the oncoming lane in a right-hand bend for reasons unknown until now and crashed into an oncoming car with full force, driven by a 52-year-old from the Grieskirchen district. and fell onto the pavement where he lay.

The cyclist friends immediately provided first aid and called the rescue service. After the first aid, the 52-year-old was brought to the LKH Ried with serious injuries.

The racing bike was totally damaged, the car slightly damaged.
