During the subsequent check, it turned out that the 21-year-old car driver from the Zwettl district not only had 0.18 per thousand alcohol in his blood, but also about ten grams of marijuana with him. In addition, the young man was driving without a valid driver’s license. He had already had to give it up after previous traffic offenses.
The brothers from Zwettl were taken into police custody. In the Pregarten police station, a rapid urine test was carried out on the driver, which was positive for THC. The responsible medical officer determined that the Lower Austrian, who was apparently under the influence of intoxicants, was unfit to drive during the subsequent clinical examination. The 21-year-old was reported for drug use and alcohol at the wheel.
