Spain will limit air conditioning in public buildings

In winter, the heating temperature may not exceed 19 ºC.

These measures will apply “whenever technically possible”specifies the text, whose main lines were unveiled on Tuesday after the weekly meeting of the government.

This plan also includes measures to encourage civil servants to use public transport to get to work, as well as a strengthening of teleworking in the administration.

State employees will be able to carry out “three days of remote work for two days of face-to-face work,” explained the Minister of Finance and Public Function, María Jesús Montero, specifying that the measures of the plan will be applied immediately.

The European Comission presented in mid-May a €210 billion plan (u$s225,000) that foresees develop renewable energyas well as save substantially energy for divest “as soon as possible” of Russian gas importsin response to the war in Ukraine.

Within the framework of these efforts, several Member States announced measures that affect public buildings, such as Italy, which also ordered to limit heating and air conditioning in schools and government buildings.
