Sportunion Ohlsdorf recently took part in the top European badminton tournament “Adria-International” in Opatija (Croatia) with seven players. Sarah Dlapka, in particular, was able to convince in doubles with her partner from Vorarlberg without losing a set to win this large continental ranking list tournament. In mixed doubles, Sarah and her Viennese partner also made it to the final, which developed into a real battle of nerves against a Belgian duo and was lost in three extremely tight sets.
These sensational results give Sarah hope for a nomination for the U19 European Championship in the summer. Her sporting résumé: “I’m particularly satisfied with our tactical performance. Now it’s a matter of resolving one or the other technical deficiency and working on physical fitness.”
The performance of two other Ohlsdorf U17 players, Hanna Gillesberger and Lorenz Windauer, who both won a game in singles and mixed, was also satisfactory. There was even gold for Livia Mayr: The youngster from Ohlsdorf also showed her great international potential in Croatia and won the girls’ doubles in the U11 category with her partner from Neuhofen/Krems.
